Recognition and accreditation
Verify the constituent institute, awarding university and any applicable programme approval through official sources.
Three separate questions to answer
- Institution: Is the awarding institution recognised, and is this the correct legal name?
- Programme: Is the specific degree offered in the mode and academic session you want?
- Purpose: Does it meet the entry conditions of your intended further study, employer or regulated profession?
For an online programme
Look up the institution and programme on UGC-DEB for the relevant session. Institutional accreditation, a marketing partnership and a programme’s online entitlement are not interchangeable. Save the official record with the prospectus and offer letter.
For a campus programme
Confirm the university or affiliated college, campus and awarding body. If a professional regulator applies to the course, check its current programme requirements too. A ranking position is a comparative indicator, not an admission guarantee or a substitute for recognition.
